A new leak reveals a dual-camera system with a 50MP wide-angle lens and 48MP telephoto lens on the DJI Air 3S. It is also expected to support 4K/60fps video, and offer 45 minutes of flight time. The drone further includes LiDAR-based obstacle detection and advanced flight modes like ActiveTrack 5.0.

At this point, we've gotten to see DJI's upcoming Air 3S drone from multiple angles. Not only that, we've seen in-flight footage of the drone as well, alongside pricing leaks. Granted, most specs were elusive until this point, but now, a prominent tipster with a reliable history of sharing DJI leaks has come forward with nearly every single specification of the Air 3S. Some of these align with past leaks as well, adding even more weight to the rumors. Weighing 724 grams, the Air 3S is expected to feature a dual-camera system, offering a wide-angle and medium telephoto lens.

The wide-angle camera has a 1-inch CMOS sensor, as previously speculated, with a 1-2.9x digital zoom, a focal length of 24 mm, an f/1.8 aperture, and a resolution of 50 megapixels. This in itself is a huge upgrade over the previous iteration - the DJI Air 2S (currently $894 on Amazon), which featured a 20MP sensor. The telephoto lens features a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, 3x-9x digital zoom, a 70 mm focal length, an f/2.8 aperture, and 48 MP resolution. Both these cameras offer a dynamic range of up to 14 stops.

As per the new leak, video capabilities include 4K video shooting at up to 60fps and slow-motion video at 4K/120fps. The drone supports shooting in 10-bit D-log-M and HLG formats for high-quality footage. Stabilization is managed with a 3-axis ball anti-shake system.

The Air 3S will have a maximum flight time of 45 minutes (with a 4,276 mAh battery, taking previous leaks into account) and will come with 42 GB of internal memory, with MicroSD support for up to 512 GB. The drone is equipped with LiDAR-based sensor barrier detection for obstacle avoidance - a first for the non-commercial DJI drone lineup. Previously, DJI has integrated LiDAR sensors into its significantly expensive Zenmuse L1 and Zenmuse L2 drones, so this marks a huge jump for the brand.

Intelligent flight modes include Waypoint, QuickShots, MasterShots, FocusTrack, Spotlight 2.0, ActiveTrack 5.0, and Point of Interest 3.0. The Air 3S will also include APAS 5.0, night mode, hyperlapse, slow-motion, SmartPhoto 3.0, and QuickTransfer. It also features a next-gen Return to Home (RTH) system for automated flight return, as per reports.

With all these spec leaks, the DJI Air 3S is turning out to be a solid upgrade over the DJI Air 2S, considering a price point of $1,492 as per previous reports (bundled with the RC 2 remote controller, apart from the new RC-N3 remote controller option that came with the DJI Neo). Now, all that remains is an official statement of confirmation from DJI, which shouldn't be too far off as well.
