DJI has now confirmed the date for its launch event. Scheduled for less than a week's time, the event appears set to showcase a new DJI Air drone and not the long-rumoured Mavic 4.

DJI waited quite a few months this year to unveil a new consumer product. However, it is not hanging around after releasing the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Neo. While the company has not confirmed what it has in store just yet, it has at least outlined when it will present another device.

As a last-minute leak suggested, DJI intends to introduce a new product on October 15 rather than October 23. Additionally, the company's teaser confirms that the 'Chase the View' event will commence at 13:00 UTC. With that being said, this time is also likely when DJI will open pre-orders globally. Please note that it remains to be seen when said pre-orders will begin shipping.

Currently, DJI is anticipated to announce the Air 3S rather than the flagship Mavic 4. Although this is not official just yet, the former has been subject to more leaks in the last few weeks than the latter. To that end, DJI's teaser implies that the device arriving on October 15 will feature two cameras, which is in line with expectations for an Air 3 (curr. $1,239 on Amazon) successor, not a replacement for the Mavic 3.
