In the latest update, Plasma 6 continues to expand its hardware support to help creatives get more done. With many new features, it is shaping up to be the most powerful release yet.

Digital artists are the biggest beneficiaries of the latest Plasma update. Plasma 6.2 is all about expanding compatibility and functionality for drawing tablets. From Wacom to XPPEN, users can find updated settings and options for their drawing tablets under the system settings. Notably, Plasma 6.2 introduced a built-in tablet calibration wizard and test mode to help users ensure the precision and accuracy of their device. Users no longer have to deal with the frustration of installing additional drivers or software to re-map buttons on their devices. However, suppose a user finds that their device is not supported. In that case, KDE assures users that their input is essential and asks them to report the issue so that developers can add the device in the future.

Color management receives major improvements in Plasma 6.2, including increased support for the Wayland color management protocol. Thanks to updated HDR and ICC profiles, games, movies, and design work receive visual enhancements. Additionally, built-in tone mapping features courtesy of Plasma’s KWin compositor will keep monitors from blowing out images or otherwise trying to display colors outside the monitor's scope. For colorblind users, the revamped accessibility page includes additional colorblindness filters.

In addition to these artist-focused features, Plasma 6.2 includes welcome upgrades to Power management, Discover, System Updating, and UI changes. Please visit the announcement page below for more information and a complete list of the changes.
