Months have passed since details about the DJI Osmo 360 first surfaced online. In the intervening period, DJI has introduced various new products, including the Mic Mini and the Flip drone. However, there has been no official suggestion that a 360-degree action camera is in the works.
Nonetheless, the first photo of DJI's first attempt at a 360-degree camera has surfaced online. Seemingly, the image was posted on Chinese social media before making its way to X. There are no obvious signs that the image has been altered, which makes us suspect that it is authentic. To that end, Jasper Ellens, OsitaLV and Quadro News all believe that the image is real.
Also, the design shown matches drawings of the Osmo 360 that the FCC published last October. As such, the Osmo 360 is wider but shorter than the Insta360 X4 (curr. $499.99 on Amazon), which measures 46 x 123.6 x 37.6 mm. Conversely, the Osmo 360 appears to be slightly narrower than the Osmo Action 5 Pro that DJI is expected to complement later this year with the Osmo Action 6. Specifications for the Osmo 360 remain unknown for now, although the appearance of a hands-on photo suggests that the action camera will become official sooner rather than later.
