There have been plenty of DJI-related leaks lately, whether that be unreleased drones or upcoming action cameras like the so-called Osmo Nano. The company's last release was actually the Mic Mini (curr. $169 on Amazon) in November, which serves as a cheaper option to the existing Mic 2.
Now, the company has kicked off 2025 by offering up a new consumer drone called the DJI Flip. As DJI's images suggest, the new drone sports a foldable design that should make it more compact than its other 249 g drones like the Mini 4 Pro. The Flip also includes propeller guards to prevent damage when being stowed away; their use does not extend to first-person view (FPV) purposes.
Instead, DJI's new drone is compatible with RC 2 and RC-N3 controllers with up to 13 km of range when streaming 1080p footage locked at 60 FPS thanks to OcuSync 4.0 (O4). For reference, the drone can transmit content back to the DJI Fly app at up to 30 MB/s. The Flip also boasts up to 31-minute flight times, although only in ideal conditions.
Moreover, DJI equips the Flip with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS camera sensor that outputs natively at 48 MP with an f/1.7 aperture and Dual Native ISO while recording footage at up to 4K and 60 FPS. The Flip can capture 100 FPS slow motion footage in 4K too with support offered for a 10-bit D-Log M colour mode. As usual, DJI integrates various software features as well, including FocusTrack, MasterShots and Hyperlapse.
The DJI Flip starts at $439 on its own and rises to $639 with an RC-2 controller. Alternatively, the new drone can be picked up as part of a Fly More Combo for $779 with a handful of additional accessories. Please see DJI's website for more details.
