The Hula is a new drone that promises to deliver a slew of features and is also designed to be easily programmable. The drone even offers support for games to boot.

The Hula is a new drone that has successfully reached its crowdfunding campaign goal. Nonetheless, you can still support the project and get the drone for a starting price of $139. As usual, it bears mentioning that this crowdfunding campaign isn’t without a significant financial risk for its backers. The product is set to start shipping in January, i.e. in a few weeks' time at the latest.

The drone is equipped with a Full HD camera capable of capturing videos at 720p and 30 fps. However, the Hula doesn’t have a GPS module for navigation and is apparently intended more for indoor use. The camera, which can be used for navigation purposes, enables the drone to read QR codes, visual tags and gestures. The built-in IR sensors are designed to enhance navigation and help the drone avoid collisions.

Featuring support for AR applications, up to ten Hula drones can duke it out in the air. The drone is also fitted with colourful LED lighting, allowing multiple units to put on a light show together. Furthermore, the system is designed to help users learn programming skills. Weighing 100 g (0.22 lb), the drone can be controlled using a smartphone and boasts a maximum flight altitude of 10 m (32.8 ft) and a top horizontal speed of 3 m/s (9.8 ft/s). The company claims the Hula has a flight range of 100 m (328 ft) and a flight time of 10 minutes on a single charge.
