Hardly any time has passed since the first details about the DJI Flip leaked online. Nonetheless, the likes of Jasper Ellens and Igor Bogdanov have obtained footage of the unreleased drone that highlights various design elements.
To recap, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) published an image of the DJI Flip at the end of last week along with a few other tidbits like its battery capacity. Now, a leaked video suggests that DJI has borrowed some design elements from HoverAir with its recent X1 (curr. $349 on Amazon), X1 Pro and X1 Pro Max drones.
Specifically, the DJI Flip can be folded up when not in use, which should make it more compact than even the tiny DJI Neo. Moreover, the likes of DroneXL assert that the Flip appears to feature a LiDAR sensor array, too. In fact, this may come directly from the Air 3S that DJI released earlier this year.
On top of that, the DJI Flip should support DJI's OcuSync 4 (O4) video transmission technology and a 3-axis gimbal for its single camera. Unfortunately, other details like a launch date and pricing remain unknown for now. With that being said, DroneXL speculates that DJI may be preparing to officially introduce the Flip in early 2025; we cannot find any evidence that verifies this claim yet, though.
Breaking: Thanks to my friend YueYue this is the worlds first view of the #DJIFLIP. The Flip will be the next gen #foldable DJI drone (video). If you were waiting on a Mini 5. This is it. It will have O4 and probably LiDAR. Prop guards are like FPV carbon fiber. Cheers! Jasper pic.twitter.com/uhumLWXLup
