Rumors tout DJI Mic Mini as a smaller, affordable alternative to the Mic 2
DJI may be preparing to unveil a more compact version of its popular microphone series, as suggested in a post by reliable leaker @JasperEllens on X/Twitter. The upcoming model, referred to as the DJI Mic Mini, has reportedly already been filed with the FCC. While official details are scarce, it's likely that this smaller variant will retain key features of the current DJI Mic lineup, such as Bluetooth connectivity, noise cancellation, and dual-transmitter support.
Based on DJI's previous approach, the Mic Mini could adopt a sleeker design while still providing essential features, particularly for content creators who need a portable recording device. It's possible that DJI might scale down the display or omit some of the advanced controls seen in the Mic 2 (currently $99 for the transmitter on Amazon), but Ellens also speculates a major price drop—perhaps making the Mini a more affordable entry point for users.
While it's unclear how much of the Mic 2's powerful audio capabilities will transfer to the Mini, including its 14-hour battery life (granted, there's little to no chance it could feature the aforementioned battery life in a smaller form factor) and intelligent clipping prevention, the Mic Mini could bridge the gap for those seeking high-quality audio without the bulk. More concrete info is expected to be available soon.
