Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 arrive with improved comfort, longer battery life and enhanced sleep tracking

Three years ago, Ozlo debuted the Sleepbuds. Designed specifically for overnight use, the earbuds have since received positive reviews overall, with users noting that they are "comfortable" and "get the job done" despite several flaws. Now, the predecessor has arrived in the form of the Sleepbuds 2. The updated model keeps the original concept largely intact, introducing refinements aimed at improving both comfort and long-term usability.

Instead of active noise cancellation, the earbuds continue to use passive noise cancellation in the form of silicone tips, which aims to minimise disruptive sounds such as snoring, traffic and barking dogs. Reception of this feature is mixed on the predecessor; one user says it works very well, while another claims it to be useless. Whether this feature has been improved on the Sleepbuds 2 is yet to be confirmed by real-world testing. In any case, the usefulness of this feature is likely to be subjective, as evidenced by feedback on the predecessor model.

The biggest upgrade appears to be battery life, which is said to have been improved from 10 hours to up to 14 hours, with the Smart Case holding enough extra charge for two or three more nights on the go. The case also gets a physical button that can trigger a saved sleep sound or silence the private alarm without needing the phone app. A new Sleep Shield feature keeps calls, notifications and other Bluetooth interruptions from breaking playback. The Smart Case also collects environmental data, including light, noise and temperature, in order to provide sleep insights via the companion app.

Additional enhancements include faster sound transfers, redesigned battery indicators, smoother pairing and a refreshed app interface. The Sleepbuds 2 are available via Ozlo's official website for $279, which includes four ear-tip sizes, the Smart Charging Case and a USB-C cable. Those who prefer a comparable alternative with active noise cancellation are advised to take a look at the Soundcore Sleep A30.
