Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 launch globally as budget earbuds with ANC and LHDC

The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 are now available in additional markets, including Germany and the United Kingdom. In Germany, Xiaomi lists them at €50 via its official web store, while in the UK they are priced at £40. The earbuds are offered in three color options: Green, Black, and White. At least in Germany, Xiaomi is promoting the product with a launch discount; the official MSRP is €60, although it remains unclear whether this price will actually be charged in the long term.
As is typical for the Redmi lineup, the Redmi Buds 8 aim to deliver a solid feature set at a relatively low price point. Active noise cancellation (ANC) is included and is rated to reduce ambient noise by up to 50 dB. Support for the LHDC codec is also notable in this segment, potentially enabling high-quality wireless audio transmission with minimal loss. Audio output is handled by dual 11 mm drivers. Xiaomi is also highlighting its Sound ID feature, which is based on a personalized hearing test. According to the manufacturer, this allows audio playback to be tailored to the user’s individual hearing profile and preferences.
Battery life is rated at up to 11 hours for the earbuds alone, extending to 44 hours when using the charging case, both without ANC. With ANC enabled, battery life drops to 6.5 hours for the earbuds and up to 28 hours in total. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.
