Xiaomi launches new affordable wireless earbuds with up to 44-hour battery life

Xiaomi has introduced a new pair of affordable wireless earbuds in China, the Redmi Buds 8. These will be proper competitors of the upcoming OnePlus Buds Ace 3, which are set to launch soon, and it's likely that Xiaomi's new offering will undercut them in terms of price.
The Redmi Buds 8 have been launched in China with a price of CNY 229, around $33. While this tag makes them reside in the entry-level range, they seem solid, at least on paper. Xiaomi highlights the 55dB noise cancellation ability of the Bluetooth earbuds, and there are three switchable levels.
As for the sound setup, Xiaomi notes that the ANC earbuds come with an 11mm dynamic driver configuration with "multi-layer composite diaphragm." There's support for LHDC V5, making the earbuds achieve the Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, but it's worth noting that this codec is mostly supported by Chinese smartphones.
There's a sound personalization feature, allowing users to create a custom SoundID that matches their listening preferences. Xiaomi also promises a clear calling experience with the three-microphone setup, which is paired with an AI noise reduction algorithm.
Design-wise, the Redmi Buds 8 are said to weigh 5 grams, and the ergonomic design aims to offer a comfortable wearing experience. The battery life is also a highlight, and with the carrying case, Xiaomi touts that the earbuds can deliver up to 44 hours of playtime after a full charge (45W Iniu mini 10K power bank curr. $29.96 on Amazon).
In China, the Redmi Buds 8 have been launched in three color options, and Xiaomi is expected to bring these affordable earbuds to the global market soon.
