Robosen unveils new Optimus Prime anniversary robot toy for $1400

Robosen, the brand best known for its robot toys, which includes the Transformers series, has announced a new robot toy based on the Hasbro franchise. The new toy is officially called the Robosen Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1, and it is a limited edition under Robosen's Transformers flagship series.

According to Robosen, the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 is a commemorative piece inspired by Optimus Prime's death in the 1986 film, The Transformers: The Movie. Unlike its other robot toys based on the Autobot, which have the character's signature red and blue colors, this version of Optimus Prime is black and gray, and heavily scarred as it features cracks, burns, bullet marks, and scratches.

The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 features the voice of Peter Cullen, the voice actor from the movie. Like the other Transformers's robot toys, it can auto-convert from robot to vehicle mode and vice versa. There's also support for over 50 voice commands including “convert” and “attack”. It also features 50 microchips and 27 servo motors which help with its transformations and poses.

The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 has support for app control via the mobile app. Owners can also download new actions, unlock hidden features, and update the robot toy using the mobile app. They can also create their own battle sequences using the Robosen Studio software for PC.

In addition, Robosen says that those who own the Flagship Megatron and Flagship Bumblebee robot toys can reenact legendary battles through synchronized motion and dialogue. Unfortunately, it says the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 isn't compatible with the Elite Optimus Prime Trailer Kit.

The Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 is priced at $1,399 but is currently discounted to $400 for those who pre-order. Only 1000 units are available in North America and pre-order closes on August 25, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT. Shipping is expected to begin in December 2026. All pre-orders come with a Robosen coaster as a free gift.
