Leak reveals Xiaomi Poco X8 (Power) with up to 10,000 mAh, IP69K, and 6 years of updates

The Xiaomi Poco X8 5G was recently spotted in a certification listing, and now leaker Yogesh Brar has published a promotional image revealing the design and key specifications of this mid-range smartphone. The specifications suggest that this is a variant of the Redmi Note 17 Pro, albeit with a modified design and new color options.
The mid-range smartphone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that reaches a peak HDR brightness of 3,500 nits. Wet Touch 2.0 is designed to allow for operation with wet fingers. Xiaomi has equipped the device with a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The display is protected from scratches by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The body is IP69K-certified and therefore waterproof.
The highlight of the device’s specs is the massive 9,000 mAh battery, which can be charged via USB-C at up to 67 watts. The Poco X8 Power 5G is expected to be priced slightly higher, but it will also feature a faster Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and an even larger 10,000 mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging. The promotional image also highlights this model’s 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a brightness of 3,500 nits and a 50 MP main camera.
However, the Poco X8 Power 5G also features an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a higher-resolution 32 MP selfie camera. Both smartphones will receive four major Android updates and six years of security patches, meaning their update support is on par with models like the Poco M8 5G ($252 on Amazon). Both the Poco X8 5G and the Poco X8 Power 5G are expected to be officially unveiled by early September.
