Our review reveals where the German alternative to the Samsung Galaxy A57 falls short

The quality of the speaker system has become an important factor when buying a smartphone. More compact phones often suffer from a lack of depth and uneven frequency response. Unfortunately, our review of the 6.67-inch Gigaset GS6 Pro also reveals significant shortcomings when it comes to audio.

The bass range on this German flagship phone is virtually nonexistent. Below 200 Hz, the level drops sharply in our pink‑noise measurement. Because the human ear is inherently less sensitive to such low frequencies, the bass remains practically inaudible on this mid‑range “Made in Germany” device. In contrast, the mids and highs are overemphasized. In this range, the measured level rises sharply and peaks at 3,150 Hz. When playing music or watching YouTube videos on the Gigaset GS6 Pro, the audio has a noticeably tinny character. This mid‑range device produces a thin, metallic sound signature that lacks warmth and body.

The unbalanced sound profile is also evident in the ultra-high frequencies. Here, the volume level drops off drastically again. The speaker system thus lacks not only depth but also brilliance.
