A Vulkan GPU whitelist buried in Genshin Impact's files lists several GPUs that haven't been announced yet, including two Mali configurations that have not previously leaked and a naming pattern that does not match anything in Arm's current lineup.

A Vulkan GPU whitelist file found in Genshin Impact's Android/data folder lists the GPUs supported by Genshin's Vulkan API and contains several entries that point to mobile GPUs that have not yet been announced. Game developers typically compile these whitelists from vendor hardware documentation months ahead of a chip's public unveiling, since driver support has to be validated before retail devices ship.

The list of GPU whitelisted for Genshin Impact, version 7.0

Most of the roughly 30 entries correspond to hardware already on the market. The Adreno 829, for example, is the GPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5; the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 and MC11 entries match the Dimensity 9500 and Dimensity 9500m; and the Xclipse 960 refers to the GPU in Samsung's Exynos 2600. The Adreno 845 and 850 line up with the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Pro (SM8975), both of which have already surfaced in leaks ahead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit in September.

Two entries don't correspond to any previously reported hardware. The Mali-G2-Ultra-NX MC12 and MC16 configurations follow the naming scheme of the current Mali-G1-Ultra branding used on flagship Arm GPUs like the one in the Dimensity 9500. The MC12 variant is rumored to appear in the Dimensity 9600 Pro, suggesting an architectural upgrade without an increase in core count. The MC16 variant, meanwhile, may point to Xiaomi's rumored XRing O3. Xiaomi previously used a large GPU configuration in the XRing O1, an Immortalis-G925 MC16 setup, so a similarly sized MC16 configuration would fit the pattern. If that holds, the XRing O3 could ship with newer Arm IP than the Dimensity 9600 Pro while being built on an older process node: TSMC's N3P versus the Dimensity's rumored N2P, which would make for an interesting comparison, given that both chips are expected to arrive around the same time.

A third, unrelated naming pattern also appears in the file: Mali-TMAX-Immortalis MC16. Arm's Immortalis branding denotes its ray-tracing-capable GPU tier, but the "TMAX" prefix hasn't appeared in any prior Arm materials or leaks, and it is unclear where it sits relative to the Ultra branding.

Since this information comes from an application whitelist rather than official vendor documentation, specifications and naming may differ from what ships in retail hardware.
