The next-gen Xiaomi Xring SoC has been officially announced, and the company is set to offer some initial details about the chipset on a live stream scheduled for August 23, 2026. Its name hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Xiaomi released the Xring O1 as its very first in-house SoC, and it powered flagship devices like the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Pad 7 Ultra. Recent leaks suggested that the company is getting ready to introduce the successor, and now, through a surprise announcement, the company has confirmed that it will share initial details about the chipset soon.

Specifically, Xiaomi announced that it would hold a live stream on August 23, 2026, in which the VP of Xiaomi Engineering, Dan Zhu, will share initial details about the next-gen flagship SoC. There's still no confirmation of the name, but recent reports suggest it will be branded as Xring O3.

Recent reports have also suggested that the SoC will be built on TSMC's 3nm node, which could put it a little behind the upcoming flagship SoCs from Qualcomm and MediaTek. For reference, the rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and Dimensity 9600 Pro are expected to be based on TSMC 2nm N2 node.

Even if that stands true, the Xring O3 is expected to bring notable improvement in terms of efficiency. A report from April 2026 also suggested that the chipset would break the 4GHz barrier, suggesting that there would be a good bump in terms of performance as well.

That said, it's still unclear what devices the Xring O3 will be powering, but the Pad 8S Pro is expected to be one of them. A report from May 2026 also hinted that the brand may release a special variant of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra with its in-house SoC. These devices, however, are less likely to officially make it outside China, just like the last-gen devices powered by the Xring O1 (15S Pro 16/512GB curr. $779.70 on TradingShenzhen).
