The Samsung Galaxy Quantum7 is official, featuring a water-resistant, 6.9-millimeter-thin body, six major Android updates, and a fast Samsung Exynos 1680 processor. However, the most unusual feature of the Galaxy Quantum series is no longer promoted in the latest model.

Samsung and SK Telecom have unveiled the Galaxy Quantum7, a new mid-range smartphone that offers virtually the same features as the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G. While the Galaxy Quantum series has always been equipped with a quantum random number generator (QRNG) in the past, SK Telecom made no mention of this feature in the announcement of the latest model, suggesting that the QRNG chip has likely been omitted.

This means the Galaxy Quantum7 is virtually indistinguishable from the Galaxy A57 5G, and also features a Samsung Exynos 1680 ARM chip, at least 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash storage, and a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung has equipped the device with a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and charges via USB-C at up to 45 watts. With a thickness of 6.9 millimeters, the Galaxy Quantum7 is marketed as the thinnest smartphone in the series to date. The 179-gram device is IP68-certified and therefore waterproof. Samsung guarantees at least six major Android updates and six years of security patches for this model as well.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy Quantum7 is available in South Korea starting at ₩717,200 ($517). Since the smartphone was developed through a partnership between Samsung and SK Telecom, it is likely to be available exclusively in South Korea. However, the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G, which is virtually identical, is already available on Amazon for $429.
