Xiaomi has officially released the Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone in Europe. The smartphone features an AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, and a large 7,700 mAh battery with 45 W wired charging support. Plus, Xiaomi promises 4 major Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches for the device.

Following the India launch, Xiaomi has officially launched its latest Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone in Europe. The EU variant is slightly different from the Indian variant. Speaking more precisely, the Note 17 5G EU model ships with a 7,700 mAh battery capacity. In contrast, the India model has a slightly larger 8,000 mAh battery. However, both variants support 45 W wired and 22.5 W reverse wired charging.

Under the hood, the Note 17 5G is powered by a 4 nm-based Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. It runs Android 16-based HyperOS out of the box, and Xiaomi promises 4 major Android OS updates (Android 17, 18, 19, and 20) and 6 years of security patches (until 2032) for the device.

The 5G-enabled smartphone has a 6.99-inch AMOLED display that outputs at a 2396 x 1080 pixel resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. Plus, there's Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on top, which is said to offer 3000-cycle scratch resistance. You get a 50 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. Unfortunately, neither supports 4K video recording. For context, the Redmi Note 15 5G (curr. at $267.50 on Amazon) features a 108 MP camera and supports 4K 30 fps video recording.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, an IR blaster, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, and NFC support. Alongside, the company has also announced the 4G variant of the Redmi Note 17. The only difference between the 5G and 4G variants is the chipset. Otherwise, the 4G model retains the same specifications of the 5G variant. As for the chipset, the 4G model is powered by the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor.

Available in celestial purple, sky teal, and black colorways, the Redmi Note 17 5G model is priced at €379.90 for the 6 GB + 256 GB variant. On the other hand, the Note 17 4G variant starts at €249.90 for the 4 GB + 128 GB model. Interested buyers can purchase the smartphone directly from MediaMarkt
