A carbon-fiber power bank that’s about as thin as the Apple iPhone Air and weighs just 78 grams – the Core Power Bank S is said to be perfect for ultralight travel gear. The manufacturer includes a particularly lightweight, short USB-C cable.

Weighing just 78 grams, the new Core Power Bank S from Oztech Lab is even lighter than the Nitecore NB Air, and at 5.8 millimeters thick, it’s almost as thin as the Apple iPhone Air ($809 on Amazon).

The Core Power Bank S offers an IPX7-certified and therefore waterproof casing. According to the manufacturer, the power bank can be used at temperatures as low as –20 °C. The Core Power Bank S offers a capacity of 5,000 mAh, however, the manufacturer does not specify either the voltage or the capacity in watt-hours, so it is unclear whether it matches the Nitecore NB Air’s 19.4 Wh or if its actual capacity is lower.

In any case, the power bank should provide enough power to fully charge an iPhone Air or an iPhone 16 Pro once. An iPhone 16 Pro Max should be able to be charged from 0 to 72 percent, while an Apple Watch Series 11 can be fully charged eleven times. The Power Bank S can charge devices at up to 22.5 watts. Interestingly, the power bank offers a 5-watt low-power mode that significantly reduces operating temperatures, effectively providing up to 35 percent more energy.

Pricing and availability

The Oztech Core Power Bank S is currently being funded via Kickstarter. As part of the "Super Early Bird" offer, the power bank costs $32, the retail price is expected to rise to $49. An ultralight, short USB-C cable is included in the package. Shipping is expected to begin in November 2026. The price does not include $5 to $7 in shipping costs or any import fees.
