Apple MacBook Neo Lock protects laptops from thieves

The MacBook Neo ($689 on Amazon) is relatively compact and lightweight, which makes it all the easier for thieves to quickly slip the laptop into a bag. Although Apple’s most affordable MacBook does not include a Kensington Lock adapter, the MacBook Neo Lock serves the same purpose.
The lock can be attached to the lower left or right corner of the MacBook Neo without any adhesive or case modifications, so the lock should not damage the MacBook Neo. You can then attach a cable lock to the MacBook Neo Lock to secure the laptop to a table leg, for example. While this won’t stop thieves with the right tools, it makes it much more time-consuming for opportunistic thieves to steal the laptop.
The MacBook Neo Lock weighs only 15 grams, so it can remain permanently attached to the MacBook Neo without noticeably increasing the laptop’s weight. According to MacLocks, the lock is particularly useful in universities, classrooms, or hospitals, where users cannot always keep an eye on their laptops. MacLocks also offers versions for the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro, and various iPad models.
Pricing and availability
The MacBook Neo Lock is available now for $70 in the manufacturer’s online store, with an option for a version featuring a combination lock. A compatible cable lock must be purchased separately. MacLocks offers a two-year warranty on the lock.
