Bosch motor with 120 Nm, 800 Wh battery, and full suspension: New e-bike built for daily use and beyond

Focus has launched a new e-bike marketed as a versatile all-rounder—a claim that holds up, at least on paper. The Focus Aventura² FS 6.8 is a full-suspension e-bike equipped with trekking components and a dropper seatpost, allowing it to navigate loose terrain with ease. However, with maximum drop and jump allowances capped at 15 centimeters (around 6 inches), it is not designed for serious trail riding. Schwalbe Johnny Watts tires ensure reliable traction, while suspension duties are handled by an SR Suntour Mobie 34 D fork with 120 mm of travel and an SR Suntour Edge-X R rear shock with 100 mm of travel.

Powering the bike is a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, which can deliver up to 120 Nm of torque with the appropriate software update—ideal for rapid acceleration and steep climbs. The removable Bosch PowerTube battery offers an 800 Wh capacity, and riders planning extended tours without charging stops can further expand this with an optional range extender.

Its feature set makes the bike well-suited for both long-distance touring and daily commutes. It comes standard with front and rear fenders, a kickstand, full lighting, and an MIK-compatible luggage rack rated for up to 27 kilograms (59,5 lbs). Stopping power is provided by four-piston hydraulic Shimano MT420 disc brakes paired with a 203 mm rotor at the front and a 180 mm rotor at the rear. Shifting is handled by a 10-speed Shimano Cues drivetrain. The Focus Aventura² FS 6.8 800 Wh is currently available in Germany for €4,949, though Focus operates in several other international markets as well, particularly within the European Union.
