The Powerfly+ FS 8 Gen 4 is a new full suspension electric bike from Trek. The company’s new eMTB features an alpha platinum frame, a 12-speed wireless Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain, and Bosch’s Performance Line CX motor with 85 Nm of torque. It is powered by the Bosch PowerTube 800 Wh battery.

The Trek Powerfly+ FS 8 Gen 4 is a new electric mountain bike from the brand. To recall, the American e-bike manufacturer recently announced the Rail+ 9.8 Gen 5 eMTB. Interestingly, both models share similar hardware components. However, Trek ditched the carbon frame used in the next-generation Rail+ eMTB. Instead, the company uses an alpha platinum frame for the Powerfly+ e-bike.

The platinum frame is slightly heavier than the Rail+ e-bike’s carbon frame, weighing 24.88 kg (54.86 lbs). In comparison, the carbon frame weighs 23.98 kg (52.87 lbs). Despite the weight difference, both frames are capable of handling a maximum payload of 136 kg (300 lbs). Speaking of powered things, the eMTB is equipped with Bosch’s Performance Line CX mid-drive motor, delivering 750 W of peak power and 85 Nm of torque. The torque of the motor can be tuned all the way up to 100 Nm using the Bosch eBike Flow app.

Furthermore, the motor is said to offer a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h). A Bosch PowerTube 800 The battery powers the e-bike, and the company claims the e-bike offers 160 km (100 miles) of range on a single charger in eco mode. You can also extend the range of the electric bike with the 250 Wh PowerMore range extender. The Powerfly+ FS 8 Gen 4 features a 12-speed wireless Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain and a Fox 36 fork with 150 mm of travel.

Like the Rail+, you get 29 x 2.5” front and 27.5 x 2.5” rear tires. Stopping power comes from Shimano XT 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. Moreover, it ships with a number of accessories, including a kickstand, a bell, a taillight, a headlight, and a rack. Riders can view real-time speed, track ride stats, distance, battery level information, and more directly via Bosch’s eBike Flow app. Plus, the app also allows you to integrate your data with apps like Apple Health and Strava.

Interested buyers can now purchase the Powerfly+ FS 8 Gen 4 e-bike via Trek’s official website. It’s available in blue sage and catalina fog color options.
