New e-bike: Legal 750W, 800Wh, 100mm suspension, chainless drive, and twin racks

Designed primarily for city riding, the diwalii features an unusual drive setup previously seen on models like the Omm. holii. The e-bike does away with traditional chains and belts entirely, utilizing a pedal-powered generator instead. Power is delivered directly by a hub motor, which boasts a peak output of up to 750 watts. A high-capacity 800 Wh battery handles power supply, promising generous real-world range.

The diwalii comes fully equipped for daily utility. Standard accessories include front and rear fenders, a kickstand, a complete lighting system, and a multi-point frame-mounted rear rack designed for enhanced stability. Unusually for this class, the manufacturer also includes a front basket, significantly expanding its cargo-carrying capacity.

Front-wheel cushioning is handled by a suspension fork with 100 mm of travel, though the frame lacks rear suspension or a suspended seatpost. Braking duties on the step-through frame are assigned to Tektro HD-M280 hydraulic disc brakes paired with 180 mm rotors front and rear.

Due to the generator-based architecture, traditional gear shifting is absent. However, this is rarely an issue on an e-bike, as systems like the PERS setup on the diwalii maintain active motor support continuously, ensuring consistent pedaling resistance. The diwalii is currently listed on the manufacturer's website at €2,999 and is expected to launch via a crowdfunding campaign.
