The Hercules Rob Fold SUV (2026) is a folding e-bike that breaks from tradition by using a mid-drive motor rather than a hub motor. Ultimately, motor selection comes down to personal preference, as a high-quality hub motor can deliver a riding experience comparable to a mid-drive setup. However, positioning the motor centrally improves the bike's overall center of gravity. Hercules equips the Rob Fold SUV with a Bosch Performance Line CX mid-drive motor delivering up to 90 Nm of torque, paired with a 545 Wh battery mounted on the seat tube rather than integrated into the frame.

Priced at €3,999, the folding bike features equipment typical of a full-fledged trekking e-bike. Up front, a suspension fork offers 60 mm of travel—a standard figure for urban models—while a suspension seatpost provides an additional 50 mm of travel to enhance comfort on city streets. Weighing in at a relatively heavy 27.3 kg, the bike includes front and rear fenders, a full chain guard, a kickstand, an integrated lighting system, and a rear luggage rack.
