The HiBreak Dual 3 is arguably one of the most unusual smartphones in the world, as Bigme combines an energy-efficient E Ink display with an LCD that attaches magnetically to the back and can therefore be removed.

The Bigme HiBreak Dual 2 was just announced in July, and now the HiBreak Dual 3 is already on the way. Although the manufacturer has not yet confirmed any details regarding the launch date or price, the dual-display smartphone is expected to be available "soon." The design has been significantly modernized, from the front, the new model looks like a compact e-reader, and from the back, without the magnetic module, it looks just like a conventional smartphone.

The pill-shaped camera module houses only a single camera and an LED flash. The smartphone’s standout feature is the LCD module, which is attached to the back via magnets and metal pins and can also be charged this way. This module comes in handy when watching videos or scrolling through social media. The main display uses an E Ink panel, which is said to achieve a respectable refresh rate of 85 Hz and can display colors. However, E Ink cannot keep up with the response time and color vibrancy of an LCD.

The main display supports a stylus for taking notes. Like its immediate predecessor, the HiBreak Dual 3 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300. The chip is paired with 12 GB to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 512 GB of flash storage. The smartphone supports 5G Dual-SIM and ships with Android 16. All other specifications are expected to be confirmed at the latest when pre-orders for the smartphone open.
