Latest reMarkable update introduces new tools, reading enhancements and more

reMarkable has released software version 3.28 for its E Ink tablets (such as the reMarkable Paper Pro), which introduces several new tools, color improvements, reading enhancements and streamlined file management. The biggest highlight is a new Capture tool designed to simplify the copying of visual content. Users can select Capture via Selection Tool and draw around screen content in any shape, turning the selected area into an image that can be moved within a notebook or transferred between notebooks. This makes it possible to extract visuals from PDFs and other reference material without having to use more cumbersome workarounds.

The update also expands the tablet's color options, adding green, yellow, cyan and magenta while refining the existing gray shades. EPUB reading has been refreshed with interface changes, improved formatting and expanded language support. The Share button has also been moved into the main toolbar, while the sharing interface has been streamlined.

Version 3.28 also introduces several practical file-management improvements. Users can now import JPG and PNG images from Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive via Convert to Notebook, with each image placed into its own notebook. The Web App also gets drag-and-drop file handling. Last but not least, the update includes "minor bug fixes and adjustments," which reMarkable does not clarify.
