Bigme has launched the F7 and F7 Pro color E Ink photo frames in China, both with 1,300 mAh batteries, Wi-Fi and no backlight. Bigme claims the F7 can support 365 daily image updates on a single charge.

Bigme is known for its E Ink e-readers and tablets, and it recently launched the B1051 Ultra E Ink notebook. Now the company is trying something a little different with the F7 series of color E Ink photo frames.

The F7 has a 7.3-inch color E Ink display with an 800 x 480 resolution, while the F7 Pro has a larger 7.5-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution. Both models use a 1,300 mAh battery and support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and USB-C. The F7 weighs around 403 grams, while the F7 Pro weighs around 410 grams.

Neither display has a backlight, so the screens do not produce their own light in a dark room. That also sets the F7 series apart from LCD-based frames such as the Aura Frame (available on Amazon), Skylight Frame and Nixplay (curr. $139 on Amazon), which are designed to stay plugged in. Bigme claims the F7 can handle 365 daily image updates on a single charge when the photo is changed once a day. Actual battery life will depend on how often the image is changed and how the frame is used.

The frames connect to Wi-Fi and can be managed through a mobile app. Bigme says photos can be sent from smartphones, tablets, and cloud albums, while the app can also be used to manage the frame remotely. The company also advertises AI-related image features through the app.

Both models have wooden frames and can sit on a table or shelf or be mounted on a wall. The F7 comes in beech, while the F7 Pro is available in beech and walnut. The F7 measures 229 x 164 x 19.5 mm, while the F7 Pro measures 227 x 163 x 18 mm.

The F7 and F7 Pro have now launched in China, with both listed at CNY 699 (about $103) on JD.com. The F7 was already available internationally through Bigme's own store for $89, reduced from $99, while the F7 Pro is sold for $99 in beech or walnut. Both models come with a one-year warranty.
