Bigme has announced a new e-reader with a color E Ink display for the Chinese market. The new e-reader is sold as the Bigme B751C S, and while it looks like the Bigme B7 and Bigme B7 Pro, there are some major differences. It also seems to be an upgrade over the Bigme B751C.
The Bigme B751C S has a 7-inch Kaleido 3 E Ink display with a 300 ppi resolution in monochrome mode and a 150 ppi resolution for color. The product images show that the screen is flush with the bezels and not recessed. There are also page turn buttons on the left side, although with the built-in gyroscope, owners will be able to use the e-reader in any orientation.
Bigme says the B751C S has support for a stylus with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. However, it seems the stylus is sold separately.
There's an unnamed octa-core processor powering the Bigme B751C S, and it is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Thanks to a TF card slot, users will be able to add up to an additional 1TB of storage.
The Bigme B751C S has Bluetooth 5.0, a single microphone, a single speaker, and dual-band Wi-Fi. However, it doesn't have LTE support like the Bigme B7 and Bigme B7 Pro. It is also missing a camera, unlike the B7 duo.
Weighing 220 grams and measuring 7 mm thick, the Bigme B751C S runs Android 14 out of the box, an upgrade over the Android 11 that ships with the Bigme B751C. It features a 3,050mAh battery capacity, but it is not stated how many days or weeks of use owners will get before needing to recharge it.
The Bigme B751C S is available in China for CNY 1739 (~$247/€210). It seems it also launched in Europe not too long ago, although its name is stylized as the Bigme B751C-S. It is available to buy on Amazon.de for €260, and for that price, you get the e-reader, a case, and the rechargeable stylus, too.
