iReader shares first look at Tango 2S compact e-reader

Back in May 2025, iReader launched the Tango e-reader with a form factor similar to a smartphone just like Boox's Palma series. Then in October of the same year, iReader followed it with a successor called the Tango 2, and now it has announced a third model that will launch as the Tango 2s.

A teaser poster for the iReader Tango 2s has revealed that the e-reader will have a 5.84-inch display, which makes it smaller than the 6.13-inch display of the Tango 2. The panel is still a Carta 1300 monochrome display and it will have a 300 PPI. According to iReader, this is the first 5.84-inch Carta 1300 display with a 300 PPI. 

The image also provides an early look at the iReader Tango 2s. Like its predecessors, it has the form factor of a smartphone, albeit with thick bezels. The image also shows what appears to be a button on the chin. It will be available in black with a textured back.

The rest of the specs are currently unknown, however, considering it has a smaller display than the Tango 2, there's a chance that its battery capacity will be smaller. For context, the Tango 2 has a 3,900mAh battery capacity. It is also not expected to have a camera like the Boox Palma 2 Pro (available on Amazon for $399.99), since the other Tango models lack one.

iReader is yet to reveal when the e-reader will be available and how much it will cost.
