BigMe unveils HiBreak Dual smartphone with a color E Ink screen and a rear display
Bigme has taken the wraps off its new HiBreak smartphone, and unlike the previous models, this one has two displays. The HiBreak Dual, as it is officially called, features a color E Ink display on the front and a smaller but round color LCD panel on the back.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.13-inch E Ink color display with a 300 PPI resolution in black and white mode, and a 150 PPI resolution for color. On the other hand, the LCD panel on the back is a 1.85-inch screen with a 360 × 360 resolution. Bigme says the secondary display serves as a quick-glance hub that can be used to check notifications or as a viewfinder when taking pictures.
The HiBreak Dual is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 1080 processor and is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There's also a microSD card slot for adding up to an additional 2TB of storage. For its cameras, the HiBreak Dual has a 5MP front-facing camera and a 20MP rear camera.
Bigme has also added stylus support, so users can highlight and annotate documents, take notes, and sketch. The optional stylus has 4096-levels of pressure sensitivity, and Bigme has a case with a slot to store it when not in use.
The HiBreak Dual ships with Android 14 and has Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual-SIM support, an infrared blaster, and a fingerprint scanner. It also has a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W charging just like the HiBreak Pro Color (currently available on Amazon for $489).
Bigme has put a $539 price tag on the base model of the HiBreak Dual which has 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, and the price goes up to $599 when you purchase it with the stylus and case. The 12GB RAM version with 256GB of storage is priced at $629 for the phone only and $689 when you include the stylus and case.
However, Bigme will also offer the HiBreak Dual at lower prices for super early bird buyers, early bird buyers, and what it calls VIP offers. Below is the price list for the three tiers.
