Amazon and Kobo release new limited edition cases for their ereaders

Amazon and Rakuten's Kobo are among the biggest names in the ereader space, and both brands have released new cases for some of their existing devices. The new cases are a limited edition, so there's a chance there's not a lot of units or they won't be restocked when they are no longer available.
For Amazon, the new limited edition case is a collaboration with its film studio, MGM Studios, and it is based on the 2026 sci-fi hit, Project Hail Mary. The case has a colorful design with the front showing the protagonist and his space shuttle while the back has light streaks.
The Project Hail Mary case is thin and light, has a magnetic attachment for a secure close, and a wake function. It also has an opening at the bottom, so you can charge your device without having to remove the case. Amazon says it is compatible with the Kindle Paperwhite (2024 edition), the Kindle Colorsoft, and the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition. It is available to buy now on Amazon for $49.99.
Rakuten, on the other hand, has announced two cases for the Kobo Libra Colour, Kobo Clara Colour, Kobo Clara BW ereaders. Available in Green Canopy and Botanical Bliss for the devices, the cases are pretty colorful with a floral and plant design. The cases are available to buy now from the Kobo website for $39.99 for the Kobo Libra Colour and $29.99 for the Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Clara BW.
For a limited time, buyers of either of the cases will get a free copy of the eBook, Patio Lanterns. Kobo says the redemption code for the $7.99 eBook will be sent to a buyer's email within 24 hours of purchase of the case.
