New Hisense e-ink phone appears in real-life images with detachable secondary display

Hisense has been teasing the A10 e-ink phone for a while now. The smartphone was first announced in June 2026, and later in July 2026, the company officially showcased the design of the device.

For those who missed our coverage, compared to competitors like the Hibreal Dual 2, the Hisense A10 has a different dual-screen display design. The e-ink panel remains the primary screen, while the detachable display has a regular panel and it's magnetic.

Previously, Hisense has also confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm QCM6690, which is also known as the Dragonwing Q-6690. This SoC powers e-ink devices like the Boox Note X6, and it can offer a similar level of performance as the Unisoc T9100.

Now, Lao Zuo, an official from Hisense, has shared real-life images of the phone. These photos give a closer look at the detachable display and how it will work after it's attached. As revealed, there are three switching modes. Users can use the physical "Ink Smart Key," the button on the quick settings, or the button in the quick ball to make the switch.

The primary display, which is the e-ink screen, is handled by the T2000 TCON chip, and it will maintain the screen's refresh rate and other aspects of the panel. As for the detachable LCD display, Hisense didn't share its specs yet, but the real-life images show that the panel has decent brightness and color production.

There's also no official word on the price yet, but the Hisense A10 is set to launch in China on August 28, 2026. Given that it's powered by an entry-level SoC, the phone should be affordable. It's also worth noting that the secondary display won't come bundled with the device by default. Instead, it will be a separate purchase (Vamvo magnetic display curr. $39.99 on Amazon).
