DJI Osmo 360 II unboxing video compares to its predecessor showing a larger battery
Anyone currently looking for a new 360-degree camera will soon be spoiled for choice. Both the Insta360 X6 and the DJI Osmo 360 II are set to launch in a few days; both are expected to feature CMOS sensors measuring approximately 1/1.1 inches and support at least 8K50 video recording in 360-degree mode. According to earlier leaks, the DJI Osmo 360 II is even expected to offer 8K60 fps for the first time. While the Insta360 X6 will be officially unveiled on August 12, 2026, the DJI Osmo 360 II is set to launch just a few hours later on August 13, 2026.

The two 360-degree cameras are similar in terms of features and launch date, but look quite different. DJI is sticking to its square format, as shown by a promotional poster that has already been spotted in a store. Official teasers showcasing the format of the second Osmo 360 camera can also be found online, for example directly on DJI’s Weibo page. Even an unboxing video has already been leaked, though the quality isn’t particularly high. In a video posted by Igor Bogdanov on X there’s a direct comparison with the first DJI Osmo 360 camera from last year in addition to unboxing a bundle package, with the larger 2,150 mAh battery being a key point of interest compared to the 1,950 mAh battery in last year's DJI camera.
