ZTE's Nubia isn't technically new to the foldable smartphone space, having already launched two clamshell foldables under its belt. However, it doesn't have a book-style foldable like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. That may soon change as a leak has provided a first look at a new foldable device reportedly called the Nubia Fold. The leak also includes images of its third-generation clamshell foldable, the Nubia Flip 3.
Posted on X by Evan Blass, the image of the Nubia Fold shows the device unfolded as well as its rear, but not the cover display. The device has uniform bezels surrounding the foldable display. It also has a camera at the top right corner of the screen. No details were provided of the screen's dimensions.
The Nubia Fold features a large camera island that spans almost the entire upper third of the device's rear. While there are four circles, they most likely do not all have a camera lens, just as is the case with the RedMagic 11 Pro+.
The leaker also shared a technical diagram of the Nubia Fold, which shows that the cover display has a centered punch hole for the front-facing camera. It also reveals the position of the SIM tray, speakers, microphones, and USB-C port.
The Nubia Flip 3, on the other hand, features a new design. Unlike Samsung, which uses the same design multiple times, Nubia changes the design of its foldable with every iteration. The Nubia Flip, announced in 2024, has a round cover display, while the Nubia Flip 2, announced in January 2025, has a rectangular portrait-style display.
Now the Nubia Flip 3 ditches that design for a cover display that stretches across the whole area and wraps around the cameras just like the Razr 60 Ultra (available on Amazon.de for €839). The phone has two rear cameras, but it seems to be missing an LED flash; however, that isn't the case. Nubia has opted to place the dual LED flash on the second half of the foldable. It does seem to be an awkward position, but this is the same style Honor adopted for the Magic V Flip 2.
There's no information regarding their technical specifications or launch date. Nubia may choose to announce them before the end of the year or wait until 2026.
