The RedMagic 10 Air is not yet a year old, with Nubia having launched the device in April (curr. $589 on Amazon) packing a 120 Hz AMOLED display, dual 50 MP cameras and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset inside a 7.9 mm thick housing. Nonetheless, the company has already released the RedMagic 11 Pro globally, full details of which we have covered separately. Now, it seems that Nubia is preparing to introduce a new Air-branded smartphone.
For the time being, Nubia has not publicly indicated that a RedMagic 11 Air is in development. However, the TENAA now reflects that Nubia intends to bring a new sub-8 mm handset to market bearing the model number NX799J. As the screenshots below show, NX799J combines a 7.85 mm housing with a circa 7,000 mAh battery (6,780 mAh rated capacity), which contributes to its alleged 207 g weight.
Despite being only 2 g heavier than the RedMagic 10 Air, a 7,000 mAh battery would give the RedMagic 11 Air a 16.6% capacity upgrade over its predecessor. Moreover, the TENAA indicates that the RedMagic 11 Air features a 6.85-inch display that resolves at 2,688 x 1,216 pixels. Nonetheless, the device is said to be slightly shorter and narrower than the RedMagic 10 Air too at 163.82 x 76.54 mm.
On top of that, the TENAA reports that the RedMagic 11 Air contains 50 MP primary and 8 MP secondary cameras, as well as a 16 MP front-facing lens and a mysterious tertiary rear-facing camera. Also, the regulatory body hints that Nubia has equipped the device with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, which it will complement with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Based on our benchmarks, the Dimensity 9500 should give the RedMagic 11 Pro upwards of a 35% performance improvement over its predecessor. Unfortunately, launch details remain unknown for now.
