Nubia has now confirmed global launch plans for the RedMagic 10 Air, having released the smartphone last week in China. Initially, the company suggested that the RedMagic 10 Air would be available outside its home market from today. However, that is not the case.
Instead, it has not confirmed that people will be able to purchase the RedMagic 10 Air from May 6 in an 'early access' sale. To be part of this early access period, one must spend $1 between April 29 and May 6 for which Nubia will provide a $30 coupon. The RedMagic 10 Air will seemingly go on sale a day later at the same prices, though.
Specifically, the RedMagic 10 Air will start at $549 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. If that memory configuration is insufficient, then Nubia will also offer a 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage option for a $150 ($699) surcharge before factoring in any launch discounts. For those prices, Nubia will include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired charging and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that combines a 2,480 x 1,116 resolution with 1,600 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
In other words, the RedMagic 10 Air will be less powerful than the existing RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon). Nonetheless, the RedMagic 10 Air should still be a particularly potent gaming-focused smartphone that can handle pretty much any triple-A Android games or high-end emulation tasks.
