Minisforum has released a new mini-PC backed by AMD's latest Gorgon Point architecture. Announced during CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the Minisforum AI X1 Pro-470 builds directly on the existing AI X1 Pro that the company launched last year (curr. $1,109 on Amazon). Incidentally, the company has also refreshed its cheaper AI X1 mini-PC too, full details of which we have covered separately.
As for the AI X1 Pro-470, the new Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU provides it with 4 Zen 5 CPU cores that can boost to 5.2 GHz for a 100 MHz overclock over the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Likewise, the built-in Radeon 890M iGPU has jumped from 2,900 MHz to 3,100 MHz with a 54 W TDP shared across the CPU and iGPU. Meanwhile, AI performance is said to have increased from 50 TOPS to 55 TOPS (INT8). Conversely, the APU's 8 Zen 5c cores remain at 3.3 GHz, with L2 and L3 cache levels unchanged too.
Elsewhere, little separates the AI X1 Pro-470 from its predecessor, with DDR5-5600 RAM and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity returning alongside OCuLink and USB4 ports. Likewise, the new mini-PC carries across a fingerprint reader and a built-in Copilot shortcut from last year's model. Moreover, its metal housing still measures 195 x 195 x 47.5 mm and weighs around 1.5 kg.
The AI X1 Pro-470 can be ordered as a barebones unit for $759.90, €799, £695 or CAD 1,040 or AUD 1,119.90 with alleged launch discounts in all markets. Alternatively, Minisforum offers the same mini-PC as a preconfigured unit with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Also, a further discount can be applied using the coupon code AI50 until January 30.
