A few months have now passed since Machenike launched the unusual GTS mini-PC in China. Equipped with a 2.33-inch foldable status display, the Machenike GTS also combined an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor that we have tested in other mini-PCs like the Asus NUC 15 Pro+, Beelink GTI15 Ultra and the GMKtec EVO-T1 (curr. $1,369.99 on Amazon).
Shortly afterwards, Machenike listed the GTS on its global website. In the process, the company confirmed that it planned to offer the mini-PC with the lesser Core Ultra 5 225H. While we await the GTS' global release, Machenike has now released this cheaper variant in China.
Despite mentioning multiple memory configurations in November, Machenike is only offering its new variant with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage. Nonetheless, the new variant is much cheaper than the original Core Ultra 9 285H model, which ran to an equivalent of $1,165. By contrast, the Core Ultra 5 225H variant retails for ~$815 (CNY 5,669) before factoring in any subsidies.
In short, this price gap between the two systems exceeds the difference in their performance levels. According to our benchmarks, the Core Ultra 5 225H trails the Core Ultra 9 285H by less than 20% in CPU-heavy tasks. The integrated Arc 130T iGPU falls about 30% behind the Arc 140T inside the Core Ultra 9 285H, though. Currently, Machenike is still silent on international availability.
