OneXPlayer has introduced a new eGPU at CES 2026, the OneXGPU 3. While the last models featured mobile GPUs, this one has a powerful desktop GPU. It's the Radeon RX 9070 XT, an AMD RDNA 4 GPU, and the brand says that it can offer up to 180 W of performance.
In general, this desktop GPU with 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM is considered to be a great performer when it comes to 1440p and 4K gaming. However, the connectivity interface that the eGPU relies on for making a connection to the host will stand as a bottleneck.
To be specific, as OneXPlayer highlighted, the eGPU can be connected to a host device through its OCuLink or USB4 port. The former can offer up to 64 Gbps of bandwidth, and while it's a better option than the USB4 port, there can be up to a 25% performance loss, depending on the workload. Still, given that both are available, the external GPU should be compatible with most mini PCs and handhelds.
Thanks to the eGPU featuring an RDNA 4 GPU, users can take advantage of FSR 4, which will come in handy in terms of 4K gaming. Another notable aspect of the OneXGPU 3 is that it sports an M.2 slot that can hold a PCIe 2.0 SSD, allowing users to expand the storage of the host device (Gen 5 Crucial T710 curr. $169.99 on Amazon).
The company has further confirmed that there will be a decent selection of ports, including:
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 1x RJ45 Ethernet
- 1x TF Slot
There's no word on when the eGPU will be available, and OneXPlayer hasn't shared anything on the price of the OneXGPU 3 as well. However, as it has been showcased at CES 2026, the AMD external GPU should be available soon.
