Lenovo unveiled the new Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition laptop at CES 2026 as a powerful multimedia notebook that can handle anything you can throw at it. At the heart of the Yoga Pro 9i (2026) are Intel's latest Panther Lake APUs. Dave2D reports that, thanks to the new Core Ultra 300 APUs and a new cooling solution, the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition produces very little fan noise.

The Intel Panther Lake APUs will power the majority of Windows laptops in 2026, including notebooks from Lenovo. The company introduced a range of new multimedia and gaming notebooks at CES 2026 based on the latest Core Ultra 300 series. The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition (2026) was among the laptops shown, and it is a pretty nice upgrade over the 2025 Yoga Pro 9i.

Configurable with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H CPU and the RTX 5070, the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition 2026 aims to be a powerful multimedia notebook. According to Dave2D, while the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition (2026) can perform well, even without a dGPU, the laptop is also impressively quiet. Dave2D reports that the laptop only outputs 20 db of noise in the "Quiet" mode when under load. By comparison, the 2024 and 2023 Yoga Pro 9i laptops are noticeably louder at 24 db and 28 db, respectively.

Moreover, the 2026 Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition is reportedly also much quieter in the "Performance" mode while gaming (32 db) and video rendering (37 db). The 2024 Yoga Pro 9i, for instance, produces 35 db of noise while gaming and 39 db during video rendering.

In other words, the Lenovo’s new cooling solution, combined with the Intel Panther Lake chip, seems to be doing a stellar job at keeping noise under control. This also bodes well for the thermal performance of the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition (2026), as if the laptop produced a lot of heat, the fan noise would’ve been much higher.

That said, Dave2D’s numbers are from a pre-release device, running non-retail software. So, take the results with a grain of salt.

Intel has made a big deal about the iGPU performance and power efficiency of the Core Ultra 300 Panther Lake APUs, and it appears the company might’ve been telling the truth. So, we are quite excited to get our hands on upcoming Windows notebooks powered by Intel Panther Lake CPUs, like the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition, new Swift Go 14/16 AI, Swift Edge 14/16 AI, etc.

In the meantime, check out our video coverage of Lenovo’s 2026 Yoga lineup that debuted at CES 2026.
