From laptops with E-Ink displays to a rollable OLED display, Lenovo is no stranger to experimenting with their laptop designs. For instance, just last year, we reviewed the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 laptop with a rollable OLED panel. For 2026, Lenovo has released the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist at CES 2026.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist looks quite ordinary at first glance with a traditional clamshell formfactor. However, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist has a motorized display hinge, hence the name, that automatically rotates the 2.8K OLED panel based on factors like the user’s position and so on. The hinge allows the 14-inch 120 Hz display to be placed in a variety of positions, anywhere from the standard orientation to a tablet-like configuration.
Aside from the rotating touch-sensitive panel, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist packs the latest Intel Core Ultra 300 series CPUs, up to 32 GB of DDR5-9600 MT/s memory, up to 2 TB of Gen 4 storage, and a 75 Wh battery. Fortunately, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist is also relatively lightweight, coming in at just 1.4 kg (3.09 lbs.).
Moving on, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist also carries a serviceable port selection which is miles better than the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6. The notebook brings:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- Two Type-A connectors
- A single HDMI 2.1 out
- A 3.5 mm audio jack
Other notable hardware details include a 10 MP webcam with an IR sensor, Wi-Fi 7/BT5.4, four speakers, and four mics.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist is scheduled to hit store shelves in June 2026 at a starting price of $1,649.
