Edifier: New over-ear headphones with ANC and LDAC are already discounted

Edifier has now officially announced the launch of an improved Gen 2 version of the WH950NB. These are over-ear headphones, so they are not especially discreet and are likely better suited to general use than, for example, sports. The headphones are currently available at a reduced price, specifically on Amazon for about $153 thanks to a launch discount and an additional 15% coupon, which has to be activated manually. The official list price is $199.99.
They use 40mm drivers with a titanium coating, which is said to provide powerful, balanced sound. Audio quality is also not supposed to be reduced during transmission from a smartphone, for example. To enable that, LDAC is supported. According to Edifier, pairing uses Google Fast Pair, which should make setup very simple. Bluetooth multipoint is supported, allowing a simultaneous connection to two devices. Active noise cancellation is available for reducing distracting background noise. The strength of that reduction can be adjusted in several levels.
Edifier advertises a battery life of up to 80 hours, although that figure applies with ANC turned off. With ANC enabled, maximum battery life drops to around 45 hours. A 15-minute charge is said to provide enough power for an additional 13 hours of playback. The headset itself has several buttons, which can be used for the usual functions such as volume control and media playback. Additional settings can be changed in an app.
