Lenovo brings retro arcade cabinet gaming to high-end Android tablets with new releases

Lenovo finally launched the Legion Y700 Gen 5 today in China. For context, the new compact tablet joined the Xiaoxin Pro 13 and Xiaoxin Pro GT13 during a simultaneous release. While the Legion Y700 Gen 5 shares its bones with the Legion Tab Gen 5 sold globally as an alternative to the iPad mini (curr. $499 on Amazon), Lenovo has decided to offer the former with more RAM and storage than the latter.
Also, Lenovo has unveiled new gaming accessories in China, like the Legion G9 2026 controller. Additionally, it has presented a telescopic controller, full details of which we have covered separately. Moreover, the company has started selling a mini arcade cabinet in three finishes. Fundamentally, the three accessories contain the same hardware, though.

Specifically, Lenovo equips its Legion Y700 Arcade Dock with eight function keys, a single joystick and LS/DP/RS switches. The dock charges off Lenovo's standard USB Type-C power adapter it ships with its Legion tablets, too. Likewise, the Arcade Dock should keep a connected tablet topped up as well.
The Legion Y700 Arcade Dock is compatible with both the Legion Y700 Gen 4 and Legion Y700 Gen 5. By extension, the dock will also work with the Legion Tab Gen 5; it is unclear whether Lenovo plans to offer these arcade accessories globally, though. Lenovo sells its Arcade dock for CNY 399 (~$58) in Explosion, The King of Fighters '97 and Metal Slug 3 finishes.
