Xiaomi has introduced a new power bank lineup under its Black Shark brand. This new series, called Blade 2+, features two models. Both have a slim design, support for up to 22.5W fast charging, and start at around $23.

The Black Shark Blade 2+ power banks have been officially introduced in China. Xiaomi has announced them as slightly upgraded variants of the non-Plus models. The notable change is on the magnetic surface, which, on the newer options, has a new coating said to be derived from a UV excimer process.

Among the two, one has a battery capacity of 5,000mAh, while the other has a 10,000mAh battery inside. The former measures only 0.8cm in thickness, while the latter is 1.36cm thick. Xiaomi notes that this thin design is paired with a lightweight build, making the power banks weigh 105g and 175g, respectively.

As for the charging speed, both of them can offer 15W wireless charging. Wired charging speed stands at 18W for the 5,000mAh power bank, while the 10,000mAh option maxes out at 22.5W (3-feet Anker 240W cable curr. $9.99 on Amazon). The company further highlights that the batteries are "Apple-derived," promising stable and reliable power delivery.

Design-wise, the Black Shark Blade 2+ power banks feature a futuristic design, with power indicators on the exterior. They also feature a button on the side, which, when pressed once, will show the battery level on the indicators, and when pressed twice, will turn the portable charger off.

Other highlights include N52 magnets for strong magnetic suction, support for multiple charging protocols, and availability in two colorways. In China, the 5,000mAh Black Shark Blade 2+ costs CNY 159, around $29, while the 10,000mAh model has a CNY 189 price tag, about $27. Xiaomi could bring these two outside China, but they are not expected to see a wide global rollout.
