HP launches new 14-inch laptop with OLED displays, Snapdragon X2 Elite and up to 64 GB RAM

HP has brought the Snapdragon X2 platform to its EliteBook series. Specifically, the company has employed the Snapdragon X2 Plus and Snapdragon X2 Elite inside the EliteBook 6 G2q. For reference, HP has also expanded the EliteBook 6 series with new AMD and Intel variants.
As for the EliteBook 6 G2q, HP also offers it with either up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 or 64 GB of LPDDR5X-9600 RAM, depending on which processor you opt for. Likewise, the new 14-inch laptop will be configurable with up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 and 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage. Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity is handled by Qualcomm's Fast Connect C7700 modem. An X72 5G modem is on hand too, as is an NXP NPC400 NFC controller.
Moreover, HP plans to offer six display options ranging from 1200p to 1600p panels. Unfortunately, only one exceeds 400 nits in SDR mode with 800 nits peak brightness. Nonetheless, some are OLED panels, and others feature 120 Hz VRR refresh rates.
HP adds that the EliteBook 6 G2q should last up to 28 hours between charges. We would take this battery life claims with a healthy amount of scepticism until independent reviews arrive, though. HP will not officially replace the HP EliteBook G1q (curr. $910 on Amazon) until July 2026. The company has not confirmed pricing for any SKUs yet, either.
