The HP OmniBook 5 ships with a 1,200p OLED screen, Qualcomm's entry-level Snapdragon X SoC, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. For buyers who can live with the quirks of Windows on ARM, this notebook should be a great deal with long battery life and the excellent contrast ratio afforded by an OLED panel.

HP is currently offering the OmniBook 5 16 for just $499.99, effectively slashing its list price in half. It's equipped with a 16-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200, a peak brightness of 300 nits, 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and 0.2 ms pixel response time.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100 chipset (eight Oryon CPU cores boosting up to 2.97 GHz, 1.7 TFLOPS X1-45 iGPU) joined by 16 GB of LPDRR5X-8448 memory and a 512 GB M.2 SSD.

Connectivity consists of two 10 Gbps USB-C ports (Power Delivery 3.0, DisplayPort 1.4a), a 10 Gbps USB-A, and a 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo jack. On the wireless side, there's Qualcomm's FastConnect 6900 modem with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The laptop measures 13.98 × 9.65 × 0.52 inches (355 × 244 × 13.2 mm) and tips the scales at 3.52 lbs (1.59 kg), while housing a 59 Wh battery capable of charging at up to 65 W with the included USB-C GaN power adapter. Also included is a 1,080p webcam with IR and a privacy shutter.

HP's OmniBook 5 has a user rating of 4.4/5, with users praising its screen and build quality. Complaints are mainly directed at the compatibility issues of Windows on ARM and the lack of more ports.
