Citizen’s EO2023-00W Promaster Dive is finally making its way to the US market. It brings with it a color-shifting dial, a unidirectional bezel, and the same reliable, solar-powered functionality the line is known for.

Citizen’s Promaster series is known for offering some of the best value-for-money dive watches. The company’s latest model doesn’t stray too far from that formula while also bringing a refreshing twist that fans will likely appreciate. The new EO2023-00W arrives as a limited-edition model and features an eye-catching gradient blue dial that shifts hues dynamically depending on how light hits its surface.

First launched in China, the watch subsequently made its way to Canada earlier this week, and it’s now officially landing in the US for $495. The model is limited to 3,400 unnumbered units worldwide, and you can pick one up from the company's online store today.

A dial that reflects the ever-shifting seascape

The unidirectional bezel features clear minute markings and a luminous pip at 12 o’clock.

Citizen definitely deserves props for pulling off such a visually arresting dial. Citizen says it's inspired by the ever-shifting hues of the sea, with shimmering tones that move between deep blue and teal when light shines on it—there are even hints of violet at different angles. The silver-colored bezel features rose-gold minute markings and a luminous pip at 12 o’clock. The chapter ring is also silver, with applied hour markers and broad hands, finished in a warm rose gold tone with generous lume.

At 36.5mm, the case offers a more compact take on the modern dive watch.

As you might expect from a dive watch, you also get a unidirectional rotating bezel for tracking elapsed dive time underwater. The silver-colored bezel features rose-gold minute markings and a luminous pip at 12 o’clock. There's also a silver chapter ring, applied hour markers, and broad hands, finished in a warm rose gold tone with generous lume.

The watch is powered by Citizen’s in-house Eco-Drive E168 movement, which keeps the watch charged up from any light source and eliminates the need for battery replacements. The watch features a compact 36.5mm rose gold-tone stainless steel case, making it one of the more wearable dive options in Citizen’s lineup, especially for smaller wrists, and it's fitted with a BENEBiOL's PU strap made from plant-based material.
