If you’re a fan of big dive watches, Citizen’s newest limited-edition Promaster might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. At 44mm, it has a prominent wrist presence, and its iridescent dial reflects light in vivid aquatic shades. Following its release in Canada and China, the watch is now officially available in the US for $495 starting today.

Hot on the heels of the sea-inspired EO2023-00W, Citizen is bringing another limited-edition Promaster Dive to the US. The new BN0167-09W, which first launched in Canada and China last week, arrives at the same $495 price point, but offers a different take on the design and execution. The latest addition is much bigger in size at 44mm and sports a color-matched unidirectional bezel and strap.

Where the earlier model emphasized compact wearability, the BN0167-09W returns to more traditional dive watch proportions, featuring a 44mm stainless steel case and a straightforward, utilitarian design with pronounced crown guards and a grippy bezel edge.

The structural ink dial shifts between deep blue, teal, and subtle violet tones depending on the light.

The structural ink dial shifts between deep blue, teal, and subtle violet tones depending on the light.

Like the 36.5mm rose-gold variant, the dial is the main attraction here. Citizen says it's using a new structural ink technology to create a pigment-free surface that shifts hues when it catches the light, moving between deep blue, teal, and flashes of purple depending on the angle. Unlike the E02023-00W’s warmer tones, the dial on this one appears cooler overall, complemented by a crisp white chapter ring that frames the dial and enhances legibility.

The teal unidirectional bezel surrounding the dial and color-matched BENEBiOL polyurethane strap are another highlight of the package, and they contrast nicely with the silver case.

Other details like lume-filled indices and bold handset, as well as the date window at the 3 o’clock position, are the same as the other model and help maintain a distinctly functional feel.

The Eco-Drive Caliber E168, too, is the same as the one used in the rose-gold limited edition model, and that means the watch will stay charged by any light source, eliminating the need for battery replacement. It's also ISO-compliant and water-resistant to 200 meters, meeting the expectations of a purpose-built dive watch.

The Citizen Promaster Dive BN0167-09W is limited to 8,700 unnumbered pieces worldwide, a higher production run than the EO2023-00W (3,400 units), which may make it somewhat easier to obtain.

The watch is available for purchase directly from Citizen's online store and comes with the company's standard 5-year limited warranty and 30-day return policy.
