Citizen x Marvel: New stealthy X-Men-themed watch with Eco Drive tech and black leather strap officially revealed

After popping up on Amazon earlier this week, Citizen's new X-Men-themed watch is now officially out. The new Eco-Drive model is part of the Marvel collection, which already offers a broad range of themed timepieces featuring special dial artwork inspired by popular Marvel characters, ranging from Spider-Man and Black Panther to Tony Stark and Loki.
The new X-Men watch, officially designated as model number AW5007-17W, opts for a more understated design compared to the recently released Captain America 85th anniversary edition (CA7046-46W), featuring a single-crown layout and a 42.3mm silver-tone stainless steel case, which is slightly bigger than the 41mm footprint of the CA7046-46W.
On the double-layered black dial, a large silver “X” is prominently centered within a silver ring. There's also a subtle reference to X-Men's original Blue Team and Gold Team, as can be seen from blue accented 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock hour markers and gold accented 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock indices. The textured black leather strap with yellow edging detail and an X-Men logo etched on the stainless steel caseback completes the overall aesthetic. The watch comes in a special Citizen x Marvel-themed package.
The AW5007-17W is powered by Citizen’s J810 Eco-Drive movement, which keeps the watch recharged using any available ambient light source and eliminates the need for battery replacements. Meanwhile, the internal hardware is protected by an impact-resistant spherical mineral crystal that is raised slightly above the surrounding bezel. The watch weighs 85 grams and carries basic splash-resistant protection, though the official listing doesn't specify the exact rating.
The Citizen X-Men AW5007-17W is priced at $375 and is available to purchase in the US starting today directly through Citizen’s online store. It is currently listed as out of stock on the company’s Amazon storefront, but that will likely change soon. It's unclear if the watch will be distributed in other markets such as the UK, Europe, and Asia.
