New Citizen Classic Tsuno chronographs launched with 1970s-inspired profiles

Citizen Australia has just introduced two new Classic Tsuno Chronograph models, in an attempt to resurrect the brand’s 1973 "Bullhead" design in updated quartz form. The new references, AN3700-89Z and AN3660-73X, keep the signature top-mounted pushers and bracelet look that's the signature of the original Tsuno silhouette.
Both models use Citizen’s 0510 quartz chronograph caliber with a 12-hour stopwatch function and date display. The layout includes three sub-dials and a tachymeter scale on the chapter ring.
The AN3700-89Z features a burnt orange dial alongside contrasting silver sub-dials, which gives the watch a more traditional retro tone. On the other hand, the AN3660-73X goes for a green dial with orange chronograph accents and a darker bezel. In both versions, contrasting applied hour markers and baton hands keep the display relatively legible despite the color choices.
Case diameter is 38 mm on both models, with thickness listed at approximately 10.8 mm for the orange variant and 11.7 mm for the green version. Cases and bracelets are stainless steel, finished in a brushed style that neatly complements the 1970s-inspired profile. The watches are fitted with mineral crystals and rated for 50 meters of water resistance (WR50/5 bar).
Retail pricing is set at 575 AUD (~$410) for the orange AN3700-89Z and 550 AUD (~$392) for the green AN3660-73X in the Australian market. Both models are covered by a five-year limited warranty.
While Citizen is extremely popular for its Eco-Drive solar tech, these releases are based on standard quartz movements. Because of that decision, the case proportions are relatively slim, even though some collectors may have expected a light-powered option.
